Description
The jib furler is manufactured by Facnor specifically for the Diam 24 OD. It is perfectly suited to the use and operation of the Diam 24 One Design:
pull on the jib sheet and the jib unfurls; pull on the furler line and the jib furls.
In addition, the chainplate and its pin, which are specific due to their shape (known as a Barrel Pin), allow installation without a swivel. This enables the furler to sit flush on deck and to accommodate forestay sag.
This furler is a mandatory component required to comply with the class rules.
Warning: in 2016, a technical update made it mandatory to replace the standard stainless steel hub with a high-strength (HR) stainless steel hub.
It is essential to visually check for any deformation of the Barrel Pin hole by removing the pin. If in doubt, a simple magnet test will indicate whether the update has been carried out:
– standard stainless steel is not magnetic,
– HR stainless steel is magnetic.
