Description
It may happen that the propeller becomes jammed; in this case, the key can shear.
From experience, we have observed that the propeller may appear to rotate during a dry test, but once the motor is immersed in the water, it may only turn at idle speed and fail to deliver full power, preventing proper use of the engine.
Carry out a shore-side check using a 17 mm socket wrench to lock the shaft. This will allow you to verify that the propeller key is in good condition.
